Unbinding the patterns of childhood trauma and immigrant family dynamics. A safe space for Arab, Asian and minority ethnic high-achievers.

What is Qdra?

Qdra, pronounced KEW-drah (/kjuːdræ/), is derived from the Arabic word “qudra” (قدرة) which means capability, power or strength.

I believe you have the tools within to create the life you want.

Hi, I’m Nada. Founder of Qdra Counselling.

I support individuals to discover their inner strength and power to bring about change. I specialise in “unbinding” from familial expectations and childhood trauma, which requires in depth work and exploration of the past.

My approach is informed by my lived experience as an Arab woman, my roots in the Muslim community, and my previous career as a lawyer. I provide deep, culturally conscious therapy for those tired of ‘translating’ their lives, helping you unbind from ancestral expectations and professional burnout.

What does Qdra stand for?

Quality

Quality is at the heart of the way I practice. My approach is always client-focused which means that I am keen to understand your unique needs and obtain regular feedback to ensure that the services provided are meeting your expectations.

Development

I believe that investing in your personal development is a step towards living more authentically and fully. I work from a growth-based model, which means that seeking help is a way to improve and nurture what is already there rather than "fix" something that is "wrong".

Relationship

There is growing research suggesting that an integral factor in facilitating successful outcomes in therapy and coaching is the relationship between the practitioner and the client. Building a strong alliance with my clients is key to the way I work.

Authenticity

I endeavour to remain authentic in all aspects of my practice; I have found that in order to bring about positive change and live a more fulfilling life, fostering authenticity is necessary.

Authenticity = empowerment = positive change.

Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.

Carl Jung

It is never too late to be who you might have been.

George Eliot

The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change.
