Coaching

“When we plant a rose seed in the earth, we notice that it is small, but we do not criticize it as “rootless and stemless.” We treat it as a seed, giving it the water and nourishment required of a seed.” – W. Timothy Gallwey

What is coaching?

Coaching has long been affiliated with sporting; behind almost every successful athlete is a sports coach. The field of coaching as we know it today, has moved on from the athletic world. Now, coaching refers to the process between a coach and their client aimed at helping the client achieve their goals, maximise their potential, overcome their challenges or just to develop themselves.

Coaching is a partnership between the coach and their client, where the coach provides support, guidance, and encouragement to facilitate personal growth, change and goal attainment.

It is not about giving advice, finding the answers or solving problems for the client; instead, it empowers individuals to tap into their own strengths, talents, and resources to find solutions and make informed decisions. It is a dynamic and forward-focused process that explores the present and looks towards the future, helping clients set and achieve meaningful goals.

What is my approach?

My approach is about finding your power (or qdra!) and your ability to bring about the changes you want to see in your life. When you discover your own inner resources, you are more likely to create lasting change.

Part of my coaching program involves understanding who you are and what your values as a starting point. This will shape the work that we do together, whatever the issue. Understanding yourself and valuing yourself is the first step to finding your power.

As with my approach to counselling, my work is person-centred and focus on what you want. I incorporate regular feedback and always encourage my coachees to share their thoughts about the process.

My experience as a solicitor in the City of London means I know the challenges of fitting into a dynamic and fast-paced environment and the difficulties keeping up with a demanding career.

I also specialise in working with professionals from a minority background as I have first-hand experience of what it feels like to be “othered”, unseen or misunderstood in the workplace. Working with someone who has a similar experience can be helpful and, in my experience, can create a deeper connection.

Do I need coaching?
